From music to sculpture, the route taken may seem surprising. And yet, it takes discipline in both subjects, hard work and a lot of passion! It was in 2003 that Jean-François Gambino became a fully-fledged animal sculptor. Very quickly noticed, his works are distinguished by a spontaneity of execution which becomes their signature. This is how the artist best manages to translate the strength and vital energy of each of the animals represented. This intuitive force is so essential to their survival. His bestiary, originally composed mainly of large African fawns that roar, stalk and pounce on their prey, is enriched year after year with European animals. Their presence is palpable. His patinas obtained from natural pigments reinforce this impression.
