Since 1839, Costermans has been based in Le Sablon, which has become the heart of Brussels’ cultural life. Specialising in works of art from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, the Jaspar-Costermans family is one of the oldest antique dealers in Europe. For several years now, the sixth generation has been developing the family’s know-how by presenting, with the precious collaboration of Cédric Pelgrims de Bigard, a gallery of paintings specialising in the old masters of the 17th and 18th centuries. The paintings as well as the entire collection are exhibited in the family mansion, dating from the 18th century. Like his predecessors since 1947, the current director, Marc Henri Jaspar-Costermans, is a member of the Royal Chamber of Antique Dealers and Art Dealers of Belgium, itself affiliated to the International Confederation of Art Dealers (CINOA).
