Initially inspired by the old master and “French Animalier”, French artist Marie Ackers has moved beyond realism and tradition to capture a contemporary interpretation of animals. In her work, Marie Ackers deconstructs movements, reduces pure lines, simplifies forms and identifies the dynamics and rhythms of lines to produce a contemporary and distinctly elegant sculpture, inextricably associated with reality yet completely independent of it.
Marie’s work is exhibited in various galleries in the UK and Europe and recently the gilt chrome walking cheetah and the polished bronze sitting cheetah were accepted into the “Salon des Artistes Français 2021” in Paris.
