From music to the great wild animals of Africa, this route might seem strange. And yet, the common trait in both fields lies in discipline, as well as hard work and loads of passion! Jean-François Gambino became a full-time animal sculptor in 2003. His work was very rapidly noticed by the public for the spontaneous sculptural style that became his signature. This is how the artist translates the strength and vital energy of each of the animals he creates. This intuitive strength is essential for their survival. His bestiary was mainly based on the great wild animals of Africa- that roar, lie in wait, and pounce on their prey…, and later enriched over the years with the addition of European animals. Their presence is intense; an impression reinforced by the patina obtained using natural pigments.
