After a career as a ready-to-wear fashion designer, while continuing as a sculptor following her studies at the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris, Hélène Arfi decided to dedicate herself completely to sculpture. Her favourite subjects are wild animals and birds observed during her constant travels. In her studio, each animal she has observed in the wild is transformed by her imaginary. The artist confesses she has a special affinity and affection for birds. She manages to seize the fleeting instant, the passing movement, the beauty of sudden flight, translated into bronze models that are very accurate and yet spontaneous.
Hélène Arfi exhibits regularly in France and in the United States.
2015 was an important year since she won two prestigious prizes: the Sandoz prize awarded at the Salon National des Artistes Animaliers de Bry-sur-Marne and the Evariste Jonchère prize awarded by the Taylor Foundation.
