Chésade

French sculptor – Born in 1962

Chésade is a complete artist who focuses more specifically on bronze sculpture animals and figures, but who is also known for her vibrant paintings. Her passion for sculpture was born from two discoveries she made when she was very young: the first was pottery clay at the atelier of the Arts Décoratifs de Paris, and the second – live models in Kalka’s studio at the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Paris. She developed her taste for material and movement, which she expresses in her sculptures of dynamic forms enriched with a myriad of decorative incrustations. These exceptional pieces, often unique, are far from figurative but represent « landscape sculptures », the pretext for an imaginary tale that reconnects with archaic or contemporary symbols. Chésade is particularly inspired by sea creatures, with their refined patina in rich golds and hard stone colours borrowed from rocks, mother of pearl and seaweeds. The winner of several awards (Sandoz, Musée de la Marine de Paris…) her works are on show in international capitals and seafront galleries.
