Pascale Benéteau has always wanted to discover Africa. Very young, she decides to leave and settles there for several years. A new life, carried out in all simplicity, deeply immerged in the vastness of the landscapes. In a nature still virgin, in which she draws her strength with much humility.
Later it is in India then in Japan that her way leads her . A mixture of cultures, so rich and so different, that will influence and define her style, so easily recognizable today. From these years she keeps an inexhaustible source of inspiration.
Self-taught, Pascale Benéteau doesn’t follows any particular current. For her life “before” left timeless traces in which she draws her inspiration, without being preoccupied with what is ‘right’ and ‘not right’.
It is in Japan that she discovers ceramics and begins to work with clay: a true passion. Back in France some years later, mastering enough the technique of modeling, her sculptures are revealed. Animals are the main theme of her creations. Her signature is in the little detail, the one that brings the final touch, accentuating with humor her soft and uncluttered lines. A mixture of strength and fragility. Each work is a unique creation born in the intimacy of the workshop.
And finally comes the final stage where her works are cast in bronze in limited editions. Original creations with a delicate patina, animals that you just want to adopt.
Today she lives and works in Normandy.
